What does it cost to take out a policy?
The value of your bike and the coverages you select all affect the cost of the policy. Most of our customers agree that purchasing a Sundays Insurance policy, is a small price to pay relative to the cost of replacing your bike. Especially being without a bike for a period if you are not in the position to replace it straight away. The easiest way to take out a policy is to get a quote on our website or call one of our sales agents on 800.664.9594.

Can I insure my bike for just the riding season?
Sundays Insurance policies are 12-month policies covering your bike in the USA & Canada. While our policies are all calculated on an annual premium, we have taken into account where you live. So while you might only be able to ride for 9 months of the year because you are under 5 feet of snow in winter, your annual premium will reflect this. Keep in mind, any number of things can happen to your bike during the non-riding months (theft, vandalism, etc.), and Sundays Insurance covers many of those mishaps. Plus you can receive a credit on your renewal rate for maintaining loss-free, continuous coverage.
Can you recommend a specific lock for my bicycle?
The better your lock, and even multiple good locks, the lower the risk of your bicycle being stolen. Basically, anything that will take the thief more time to steal your bike increases their chances of being caught. It is not a bad rule of thumb to invest 10% of your bike value in a lock.
If I buy a new wheelset can I easily add value to the policy?
Yes, easy. Just send us the purchase receipt and tell us how much value to want to add to your sum insured. If you keep your old wheel set as a spare they remain covered when they are on the bike and as spare parts when they are not installed on the bike.

Is my bicycle not covered under my homeowners or renters insurance?
Each homeowner or renter policy is slightly different, but the cover for bicycles in homeowners and rental policies are generally very limited. Homeowners and renters insurance usually have very low limits, for example, if you have a $3,000 bike and it gets stolen, and the limit on your policy is $500, you will only get $500 if your claim is approved. Homeowners and rental policies also usually don’t provide any coverage for damage while you ride your bike, especially if you race it.
What questions can I ask my homeowners or renters insurance insurer to find out if my bike is covered?
Most people think that their bicycle is currently covered under another insurance policy they may have, such as a homeowners or renter’s policy. Until something happens and they try and claim. What many cyclists do not know, is that most homeowners policies have low limits on coverage for sporting equipment, like bicycles. Other than the low limits they very rarely provide any coverage when you have an accident while riding your bike. To find out if your bike is covered under your homeowners insurance policy, we’ve put together some questions to ask your current or potential homeowners or renters insurer:
– Do you provide coverage for bicycles for their full value?
– Do you insure my bicycle for accidents while I ride it?
– Do you provide coverage for racing?
– Do you provide coverage for travelling with my bicycle?
What is a deductible?
Your deductible is the amount of money you are responsible for paying in the event of a covered loss to your insured bicycle. Sundays Insurance offers a range of deductible options from $100 up to $500. For example, if your $4,000 bike is stolen with a $100 deductible on Bicycle Physical Damage, Sundays Insurance will pay up to $3,900 for the claim and your responsibility would be $100.
How does the deductible apply? Per accident or per year?

How much do I insure my bike for?
This is a replacement value policy. The maximum value you’ve stated for your bicycle during your application is the maximum amount that we may pay up to in the event of a claim. So you’ll want to make sure the limit is high enough to replace your bike as it is currently configured. Don’t forget to add the value of your accessories, spare parts and other components that you want insured.
Do you provide coverage for cover e-bikes?
E-bikes are here to stay and we sure provide coverage for them the same way as we insure any other bicycle. Please make sure that you let us know by selecting the electric-bike option when prompted in the quote process. So whenever you have a valid claim on your e-bike, you may be eligible to claim on the battery as well.
